Community guidelines

What's allowed ✅

• Genuine rental listings — houses, apartments, annexes, rooms, commercial spaces and vehicles you own or are authorised to rent.
• Real, accurate prices shown upfront, in Sri Lankan Rupees.
• Honest descriptions and current photos of the actual property or vehicle.
• Clear, upfront terms — deposit, key money, utilities, mileage, insurance, etc.
• One ad per property/vehicle that is genuinely available now.

What's prohibited ❌

• Fake, duplicate or "ghost" listings — anything already rented, non-existent, or posted to collect leads.
• Hidden or misleading prices — "contact for price", bait pricing, or quoting one price then changing it.
• Broker spam — posting properties you have no right to list, or mass-posting to harvest contacts.
• Scams and fraud — requesting deposits before viewing, advance-fee schemes, or impersonating an owner.
• Illegal, unsafe or discriminatory content — anything unlawful, or ads that discriminate by race, religion, gender or ethnicity.
• Offensive, abusive or adult content, hate speech, or harassment of other users.
• Wrong category or off-topic posts — listings must be real rentals, not sales, jobs or services.
• Stolen photos or copyrighted material you don't have the right to use.
• Contact details, links or spam inside listing text intended to bypass the platform.

How we enforce these rules

Every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We may reject, edit or remove any content that breaks these guidelines, and we may suspend or permanently ban accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate them — without refund of any listing fee. Serious cases (fraud, illegal activity) may be reported to the relevant authorities.

If you see a listing or user that breaks these guidelines, please report it to us right away. Your reports help keep FastRent.lk trustworthy for everyone.
